Gradual Reduction means that you reduce the hours that your child braces over time.

The Ponseti Method calls for a 23/7 for 3 months after Tenotomy and then nights and naps. If you equate naps and nights hours you get to a gradual reduction schedule that makes perfect sense to gradually reduce towards 12-14 hours at or around a year old. If you reduce 2 hours every 2 months you will land at 12-14 hours at or around a year old. Which is perfect for doing nights only bracing until 4-5 years old as Dr Ponseti specified for 95% success without relapse.
